Accessing files located on a Windows drive from OS X via Parallels is very slow. Ask Question. How to setup a local network drive to be accessible from both Windows and Mac. When running RDP from within Parallels, shortcut keys all stopped working. NOTE: For Windows 10 virtual machines make sure that under Advanced Settings 3D acceleration is set to DirectX 10. If your Mac uses an HDD or a FusionDrive (not SSD), make sure that the option Real time virtual disk optimization is disabled: go to Hardware > Hard Disk 1 > disable Free Space: Real time virtual disk optimization.
Mac os x 10.8 download free. Question: Q: Parallels VERY SLOW upon start up once in a while Once a while when I start parallels, the entire computer slows down to a crawl and is held hostage for 10-15 minutes until something 'lets loose' and parallels starts up OK and frees up the rest of the computer. VM's can also be very slow depending on the hardware you're running it on, switching apps between the Mac OS and VM isn't particularly quick on older hardware, make sure that Parallels has enough RAM allocated, that may help.

Installed first on a MBP13 retina 2013 as a VM, but the installation was incredibly slow. I then installed in Boot Camp, and the installation works as expected. If I try to start the Boot Camp partition in Fusion it is back to lag city again.
Parallels for mac for server administration. Made the conclusion that the MBP13 had trouble, installed on a brand new MBP15 with touch bar. Same thing happens. Start the Boot Camp partition in Fusion and it just hangs at the boot screen, reading from disk and doing the oocasional small download from the network. Working as expected in Boot Camp. Parallels 12 for mac ucsb.
I tried searching a little around the forums here, but it seems that most threads with the same theme is from earlier versions of Fusion and the beta of Windows 10. A few of the threads I find seems similar, but none has a good explanation or a fix of any sort. I run Windows 10 as a VM on my iMac just fine, so I know it is possible, but I'm hoping that anyone has an idea what I can do on the MBP15 to get the Boot Camp working.
